LINE CAVALRY SABRE MODEL AN XIII modified 1816, brass mounting, four-point guard hallmarked '342' and 'VE...' for Versailles, the leather-covered wooden handle with twisted filigree, the straight, single-edged blade with two hollow sides and median ridge, the point brought back to the center of the shaft, the base of the blade hallmarked 'CM' and 'AP' for the Paris workshops; the 1816-type iron scabbard with two bracelets of white polished finish. France, early 19th century. Total length (with scabbard): 116 cm. Blade length: 95.5 cm. pitted blade, slight wear and restoration, later leather strap.
