Bears a label inside: "C.L. Jackson Esq / LH Lefèvre, LONDON 16.6. 1900 / Dear Sir / The bronze of the Bison was in the private / collection of Mademoiselle Rosa Bonheur, in / her drawing room, and came for sale among / her own private effects, that means her private / collection of pictures, and other articles and works / of art, which we purchased at her sale. / I am dear Sir yours faithfully / L.
